Mother knows secrets...

"...secrets of generosity, kindness, compassion, of life lived honestly, imaginatively, well." ~ Susan Branch, The Summer Book.

These are from my mom's vegetable garden, we picked them for our neighbors.  Hope they enjoy them.

Isn't it Pretty?

I bought this ring on Etsy from LizHutnick.  As a free gift, Elizabeth gave me this hair pin.  Sweet. I love it!

When I was a kid, my parents took me over to one of their friend's house.  This lady had several little trinket-like boxes on her coffee table.  She started showing me what was inside those boxes...she had seashells and crystals and such things which were of sentimental value to her.  I was so intrigued by the "surprises" in each container, I asked her to open every container she had on the table (of course, at the annoyance of my parents).  But, she just smiled and continued to show me the contents of her boxes.

Well, anyway, I grew up and wanted to create such an interesting display.  So, this is what I've came up with.  Hopefully, I can add more meaningful items as time goes by.

Note: For a less cluttered look, be sure to use a tray (or picture frame like I've done here) to contain everything.

Wishing Tree

A wishing tree, is similar to a guest book, but the well wishes are written on a tag and hung on a tree branch.  It was our first wishing tree for a birthday party.  Try it at your next party...

Evolution of the Light Fixture

I think there's something wrong with me...I can't stop changing the way this light fixture looks...

Here's the original:

Then I added the extra crystals...

...then I added a ribbon:

Then I recently added a purple crystal magnet:

I'm afraid that won't be the end of that cause...I know I'll change it as the seasons change...Help!

The Picnic Table

Bring a glass jar with water to your next picnic so that you can set up a cute flower arrangement for your picnic table.

Yay! for summer picnics.
